The current Islamic year is 1447 AH (Anno Hegirae) and Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar also known as the Hijri calendar. This month is considered a sacred month with significance for the entire Muslim Ummah.
Current Hijri year is 1446; Dhul-Hijjah is known as the twelfth and final month of the year and is considered one of the four sacred months. During this month, Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage and Qurbani.
